I started doing cakes about 8 years ago because my cake lady became ill with cancer and was unable to do them anymore.  She passed her famous banana cake recipe onto me, gave me a few pointers and away I went.  I have always love dabbling in the kitchen and I love to entertain.  So, with three small boys under the age of six and an in-home day care,  I embarked on my first cake...
Having a very large family, soon I was doing my nieces' and nephews' cakes and before I knew it...my first wedding cake.  Not only was it my first, but it was my brother's, and I was decorating cakes in a little cabin in the Emerald Forest Campground close to Patrick's Point.  After that....the rest is history.  I took a few lessons and the next thing I knew I was teaching others what I learned. 
This hobby of mine has taken me on quite a journey and has given me great times and even better friends.  I visit Vegas every other year for Cake Camp where I have the priviledge of learning from the best of Food Network Stars, bakery owners and sugar artisans like myself.  I am now taking that next big step and actually opening a facility.  Who knows where this will take me from here, but I am so looking forward to embarking on yet another journey in the sugar world.  I look forward to meeting with you to create something that both of us can be proud of.
